Did you know that for a new born baby breast milk is considered as a very best medicine? As per the most recent research it has examined that breast milk can prevent serious considerable illness for the premature babies.  This is the reason more and more little ones who are born prematurely are being fed with their mom’s milk rather than making use of infant formula. However, not all the premature little ones can get their mom’s milk.  It’s somewhat challenging for moms to make enough milk when their baby is born too early and has to stay in the hospital. Fortunately for such babies there is the next big thing: Donor milk form a milk bank.

All across the country, new non- profit milk banks are opening to fulfill an enormous demand for donor milk for babies in hospitals. Milk banks systematically process the milk, containing pasteurization and screening the donors to make sure the milk is safe and healthy for the babies who receive it.  However, the demand is always more than the supply. So, as a team of pregnancy101, we encourage the lactating mothers for this noble cause. Being a mother, donating milk for a child and for a good cause will for sure feel an internal pleasure.

When my daughter was less than a year old I came across the information about breast milk donation through P-101 and I just knew that I can help. By donating breast milk we can provide critically ill infants a chance for survival as the breast milk provides them not only the optimal nutrients for growth and development but also the exclusive diseases fighting components that formula does not.
