Rachi’s Birth Story: Normal Birth, What A Joy!
When I found out I was pregnant I knew I wanted to have a normal delivery but I was very afraid of the concept. To relieve that fear I started looking for some yoga classes I could join during pregnancy and Voila. I found Rita’s pregnancy 101. There I met Neeru, who played a vital part in my decision making about the delivery.
On the morning of 12th December 2015, at around 5:30, I had my first contraction. I waited 2 hours before telling this to your nani. She did an internal examination and told me that you will arrive soon. May be in 3-4 hours! I was ecstatic and started packing our bags! Yes Ours One for each of us.
I then took a nice long hot water bath and got dressed for hospital. We reached there at 11:00am. During this whole time I kept on doing the breathing exercises taught in our yoga classes Work like a charm.
As time went by, I got anxious and panicky but your nani was there to support me every step of the way. Your father arrived just in time to witness your grand entrance! And then, just like magic, you arrived at 12:58pm, within 2 hours of arriving at the hospital. I heard your cry and Ohhh Such a wonderful cry that was (that is the only one time when I was happy to have heard you cry.
Your nani then dressed you up and brought you to me. That was the first time I saw you. You were so tiny and so beautiful. I kissed you on your cheek and that is when I realized all the pain was nothing compared to what I had achieved.
You, my darling daughter, have given a new dimension to my life. It’s wasn’t just you who was born that day but a mother too. You brought meaning my life.
