Be positive because baby doesn’t just get your milk, he also gets energy from you
Hey Dearies!! Happy Breastfeeding Week to all Mommies & All the Best to the Mommies to Be
Breastfeeding is an instinctual and natural act, but it’s also an art that is learnt day by day, the greatest feeling of breastfeeding is about enjoying being a woman: being a mother.
I support breastfeeding and I am glad I got a chance to share my breastfeeding experience with you all and hope it will be helpful for Mommies and also for Mommies to be.
I had to undergo a c section, i spoke to my doctor before that I want my baby on breast immediately after my delivery, so my baby was given to me but couldn’t latch him immediately, so I was given my baby after I have been shifted to the room and there I latched my baby but milk didn’t come at all so he was given top feed. As I had learnt from P101 that we have to latch our baby, the more he sucks the more milk flow will come so I did the same. I kept on latching him every time before he took the top feeds. Milk started coming and I stopped the top feed in 2 days only. Practically as being a new mom, it was difficult in the early stage but when my baby started latching properly, I just felt like “I have achieved an award”
Till 2 months everything was going fine but after that I developed milk duct blockage on my nipple and later found out there was an infection and it turned to red afterward. It was an unbearable pain whenever I used to latch him, but still I had one thing in mind that I don’t want to quit I want to continue breastfeeding him, it’s just a phase & everything will be fine soon, so I expressed milk from my the breast till the infection got recovered and it took almost 10-15 days. And after that when I latched my baby again on that breast trust me can’t tell you the feeling. I felt like “I have won a war”. He latched and looked at me & gave me a huge big smile, I forgot all the pain I went through and that feeling can’t be expressed.
When you breastfeed, you feel so connected with your baby. I feel Breastfeeding is a mother’s gift to herself as well as to your baby. It’s amazing and the fact is there is no substitute for Mother’s milk.
“I strongly support Breastfeeding”. Also, remember to be positive always because babies just don’t get your milk, they also get energy from you.
Tips: Breastfeeding also requires cleanliness, so make sure you clean your breast first before latching to avoid any kind of infection.
