The feeling of holding your little bundle of joy is beyond words and more beautiful than a woman ever dreams of
The journey of pregnancy.
My 9 months has been smooth and beautiful with just one panicky moment when I had spotting in my 6th month. Tushita Ma’am made sure I don’t stress out with the situation and guided me with the best. I had my check up done and everything was normal and it happens sometimes as told by Ma’am too.
In the 9th month I started with every home remedies for natural labor as learnt in class.
Being a 1st time mom, I had all the silly questions to ask and she explained everything so well.
My due date was 5th Aug. On 28th July I had a few contractions in the morning, I started noting it down and it went on and off till noon. By then I was sure these are false due to the intervals.
But somehow my instinct said I will go in labor in a day or 2. Same night by 8:30 – 9:00 I had pains again and this time they were in regular intervals as I learnt in labor class (which me and my husband attended twice🤦🏻♀️), I was calm till they were in intervals of 15 min apart and then 7-8 min apart.
By 10.30 pm we informed others at home that I’m in labor and might need to go to hospital probably midnight.
My husband was in constant touch over call with Ma’am with the intervals and intensity of pain. I then started with packing the bags and taking hot water bath also to kill time and to divert mind at 1am, I started cleaning the room🤦🏻♀️.
When the pains were in regular intervals for 1min 15 sec, mam told now you should leave for hospital. The breathing techniques learnt really helped a lot in contractions especially jaw level breathing when the peak seemed so unbearable.
At 2am I was directly taken to labor room to check the dilation. To everyone’s surprise I was already 8 cm dilated.
Baby’s head was down already but it was far from the birth canal. Due to covid no one was allowed in labor room and all I knew was to be strong and believe in myself. I was induced Pitocin for increasing pains as the baby had pooped little inside and to make the delivery faster. I started pushing right after all the check up was done. The pushing stage was difficult for me as initially I didn’t get how to push. Guided by all the nurses and doctor I tried and tried. But in vain till 4.30, by then I was exhausted, they made me drink water, lemon water for the energy, in between I also gave up to deliver normal because of the pain and no energy left and told I cannot do it anymore. The doctor was very supportive, she told me you are fully dilated and no matter what we will deliver you normally, you take a break and then again push.
I asked, i want to change position for pushing and they allowed to push in squat position, and bang on the baby was down in the canal by 5am and by 5:10am the lill angel was born. 👼🏻
As told in labor class, do push in squat position, I realised after pushing why it is so important because I only felt like pushing in the position.
It’s true once the baby is out and on your chest all the pain of labor is vanished and it actually seems like magic. A minute before you are shouting and pushing and then all you are is overwhelmed with the joy of your little one.
Thank you Tushita Ma’am for being there through out 9 months, for all the guidance, exercises and information sessions that really helps a ton.
I remembered her words “I know you can do it it and there’s no doubt to it”
On the night of my labor, even you didn’t sleep and was in constant touch with my hubby for all the progress I was making in labor room.
Big thank you Tushita Ma’am ♥️
